I really cannot comprehend how so many churches get behind and support an event named after a mortal sin. “Pride’s” unapologetic irreverence should turn every believer away. That said, i really don’t agree with your labeling of pride as the original / most important sin. I wrote about this in my most recent piece… I think that relies on fairly weak tradition within Western Christianity.
The evolution point is a good one, though. There really is no persuasive biological evidence that someone can be born gay. I’d even take it further, though. If sexuality is a spectrum, as the Left is wont to say, and no one is truly fully heterosexual or fully homosexual, does that not clearly suggest that people who act on homosexual impulses could be making a different decision? Unless they reject free will altogether, but Pride is so intertwined with existentialism that I doubt it’s right.
Satan hates God so much that he twists all that God made good for us and made it evil. He has twisted all that God said is bad, do not do, into something we should do. If he can destroy us he feels he succeeds against God.
“Did God truly say?”
He made Eve doubt, which caused the fall.
If it feels good, do it. If it makes you happy. My body my choice. Etc.
And he won’t stop until Jesus returns on the final day. If all this LGBTQXYZed stuff stops he will move on to something else to try to destroy humanity.
But we must fight, and remember who we are fighting against as well as Who fights with us.
