Anything that can be explained by God, but not by naturalism, is just a โBrute Factโ now.
No evidence, no reasoning, just a way to escape where logical reasoning ends.
As an aside, I wonder how many of those who invoke emergent properties also advocate for AI advancement while believing AI cannot become sentient. If consciousness can truly emerge from sufficiently complex physical systems, then it would seem AI is potentially far more dangerous than we are led to believe, and we may be on a path toward Terminator. I point this out because I suspect there may be some inconsistent reasoning at play among naturalists.
